French startup Cube AI raises $2.5M to automate back-office tasks in logistics

Cube AI

French AI company Cube AI has raised $2.5 million in pre-seed funding. The round was led by VentureFriends (which backed Carmoola and Measurlabs) with participation from Eric Schmidt, Xavier Niel, K5 Global, Rodolphe Saadé (CMA CGM), Olivier Pomel (Datadog), Florian Douetteau (Dataiku), and others.

Cube AI plans to deploy the fresh funding to automate back-office work in logistics companies.

What challenge does it resolve?

Logistics is a human driven industry built on trust and loyalty. Yet, operators in third-party logistics providers (3PLs) spend 70% of their time on robotic tasks like replying to routine emails and manual data entry. Cube AI eliminates mechanical work so operators can focus on things that matter like cultivating shipper/carrier relationships and handling exceptions.

Cube’s AI agent can process any email and understand the full context behind it, automating data extraction, responses to RFPs, and standard communications.

Its first product has already helped major logistics companies in France and in Europe streamline their back-office work. Its customers can process orders 6x faster, eliminate errors in data transfers, and book more freight.

Who is behind Cube?

Cube AI was founded by a team of AI researchers and entrepreneurs from École Polytechnique, Cambridge, HEC and ESCP – Victor Plaisance, Louis de Benoist, and Sacha Ichbiah.

Currently, they are recruiting engineers to join their mission and help deliver their product to customers around the world. If you are interested in being part of the journey, please reach out.

Louis de Benoist, CEO of Cube AI said. “Logistics is the backbone of the economy. The cost of back-office work in this industry globally exceeds 115 billion. AI has the power to reduce that cost and bring better access to goods and healthcare around the world. Not only are we able to help our current customers cut operational costs, we can also help them offer better service and win more business.”

What do we think about Cube AI?

With a $2.5 million funding, it is clear that Cube AI is committed to making supply chain operations transfer. With what’s called the first AI product for logistics, the company can revolutionise the industry.
