Omi, a French SaaS software company that models and renders 3D imagery and video for companies, said today that it has raised €6M in venture funding.

Dawn Capital, Europe’s largest B2B technology investor, led the investment, which included Founders Future’s Marc Ménasé, who led the previous round, Zenly cofounder Alexis Bonillo, Deezer founder Daniel Marhely, and Voodoo cofounder Laurent Ritter. Pareto Holdings, Financière Saint James (’s co-founder family office), Motier Ventures (Galeries Lafayette family office), and Famille C Venture also participated in the round (Clarins family office).

Fund usage

Omi also intends to use the funds to grow into other regions, initially focusing on Southern Europe and the United Kingdom, but eventually expanding outside Europe to the United States. This money will allow it to boost R&D research, hire more employees, and expand its international presence.

The company seeks to position itself as a leader in the creation of visual product content for e-commerce advertising, as well as to assist brands in their entry into Web3 and metaverses.

Founded in 2020 by Hugo and Paul Borensztein, Omi is a French SaaS of 3D modeling and rendering for products. The company enables marketers to model a product in 3D and instantaneously create ultra-realistic packshots and films, eliminating the need for physical productions. In April 2022, they announced a €6M funding lead by Dawn Capital, followed by Founders Future and notable Business Angels as Jon Oringer (Shutterstock), Alexis Bonillo (Zenly), Michael Benabou (, Daniel Marhely (Deezer), Laurent Ritter (Voodoo), or Céline Lazorthes (Leetchi).

Founders background

Hugo is a former Facebook and Instagram Director of Southern Europe Operations, and Paul is a former Zenly and Payfit Software Engineer. They discovered a significant post-pandemic increase in brand material demand – across all media, but particularly for internet use.

“Omi saves marketers time and money but also opens up many business opportunities,” said Hugo Borensztein, CEO and co-founder of Omi. “By responding to the current content creation challenges faced by brands and empowering them to easily integrate into Web3 experiences such as Augmented Reality or Metaverses, we are truly shaping the future of product marketing. The next challenges – smart-contract, distribution of 3D content in NFT, 3D modelling of the entire collections of major brands – are exciting technological and cultural challenges and we are delighted to bring our know-how.”

Ségolène Watine, D2C Business Manager at Nestlé Cereal Partners Worldwide said:

“Omi’s level of sophistication in producing world class visual assets is a true game changer, especially in a world where social media has become so influential, but content quickly becomes outdated. Now we can feed our editorial calendar with new and fresh visuals, without the new need for physical production, in a way that doesn’t cost too much in money and time.”

Laurent Solly, Vice President at Meta said, “Omi is the future of content marketing. Their solution is an absolute must-have for marketers – big or small – making it seamless to generate ultra-realistic content and match the content volume requirements of today, but also to leverage Web3 marketing opportunities.”

Dawn Capital is an early-stage investor, having backed firms in Series A and B and continuing to fund the best-performing companies through growth rounds and exit. Among its investments are Mimecast (now NASDAQ-listed with a $3.0B market cap), iZettle (sold to PayPal for $2.2B in cash), Collibra, Showpad, Dataiku, Templafy, Soldo, Quantexa, and Tink.
