The global freight industry is one of the world’s largest markets, yet much of it still depends on manual paperwork, endless email chains, and even fax machines. That outdated system is exactly what Estonian startup MyDello set out to fix.

Founded in 2021, the company has built a digital freight forwarding platform that gives businesses instant door-to-door quotes and routes for shipments of any size, by air, sea, rail, or road.

Today, MyDello announced a €3.1 million funding round led by Frumtak Ventures, based in Iceland, with participation from returning investor Superhero Capital, based in Finland.

The funding will support MyDello’s international expansion, starting with its launch in the UK. It will also accelerate the company’s plan to embed artificial intelligence across its systems, automating most shipment operations by the end of next year.

Moving the freight industry into a fully digital ecosystem

Joel Timm, the company’s CEO and co-founder, saw firsthand how global freight often moved at twentieth-century speed in a twenty-first-century world.

Timm said, “We love logistics – my co-founders and I have decades of experience and know the highs and lows of the industry. When we launched MyDello in 2021, we knew there was a better way for our industry to operate. In just a few years, we have facilitated thousands of shipments, built up a deep customer base, and struck partnerships and agreements with hundreds of key carriers and industry peers.”

The platform connects with more than 400 global carriers, including major names such as DHL, Maersk, Lufthansa, Finnair, and Qatar Airways. Within seconds, users get multiple shipping options, with live pricing, transit time estimates, and full visibility from pickup to delivery. Once booked, real-time tracking and automated updates give customers peace of mind and control that traditional forwarding still struggles to match.

Unlike Flexport, Sennder, and Freightos, MyDello is an automated, all-in-one system that covers every freight mode and every shipment scale. It’s technology for international complexity, especially the long-distance trade routes linking Europe, Asia, and the Americas. Its integrated system handles everything from quoting and booking to customs documentation, all through an interface that’s designed for business users rather than logistics specialists.

What’s next?

Today, MyDello’s platform serves 12,500 businesses across 110 countries, operating in 12 European markets and China. With its new funding, the company plans to expand to every European country by 2027 and strengthen its presence on key trade lanes between Europe and Asia.

Frumtak Ventures general partner Andri Heiðar Kristinsson: “MyDello is an awesome company: experienced founders with deep industry experience, proven track record, and a crystal clear vision for what is next. Being from Iceland, an island in the North Atlantic, we at Frumtak know first-hand how important global logistics and freight forwarding is, while we also remain baffled by the outdated legacy technology and manual processes still dominant in this fragmented industry. MyDello is perfectly positioned to move the industry forward to the AI-age through its ambitious mission of fully automating shipment operations.”
