Veterinary clinics have long struggled with outdated, fragmented software that slows down staff with administrative tasks, leaving less time for patient care and increasing team stress.

Founded in Romania in 2018 by Sebastian Gabor and Ruxandra Pui, Digitail set out to create a unified, AI-native operating system that streamlines every aspect of clinic operations, from scheduling and medical records to invoicing and client communication. In essence, Digitail enables veterinary teams to see more patients, reduce burnout, and deliver a better experience for pets and their owners.

Gabor told TFN, “Veterinary teams today are working with technology that hasn’t really changed in decades, and every new tool that pops up seems to add even more complexity. At Digitail, we’re changing that. We’ve built the most advanced, robust all-in-one AI-native platform that powers the entire clinic, from scheduling and medical records to client communication and billing. Our goal is to modernise pet care:  to make it connected, efficient, and personalised for everyone involved.”

Earlier this week, the startup raised $23 million in Series B funding led by Five Elms Capital, bringing total investments to over $37 million. Digitail is set to accelerate product innovation, expand AI capabilities, and scale globally.

Digitail’s cloud-based platform stands out with over 15 AI-powered workflows, including intelligent patient intake, AI dictation for SOAP notes, and automated record summaries. These features help clinics reduce administrative burdens while enhancing accuracy and care quality.

Unlike Covetrus Pulse (with Covetrus AI), Shepherd, Vetspire, Provet Cloud, and NectarVet, Digitail is designed natively for AI, offering seamless integration of advanced automation alongside a dedicated pet-parent app that keeps owners engaged and informed. Its robust ecosystem includes over 30 integrations and a growing suite of AI agents, providing unmatched efficiency and personalisation.

The platform covers all clinic needs with scheduling and intake, medical records, invoicing, inventory management, client communication, wellness plans, and telemedicine capabilities such as chat and virtual appointments. AI-powered tools like Tails AI automate SOAP notes, patient summaries, treatment planning, and patient intake, freeing veterinary teams to focus more on care rather than paperwork.

The system also supports customizable workflows to scale from independent clinics to multi-location practices, backed by comprehensive training and support. Digitail now serves more than 10,000 veterinarians and 3 million pet parents worldwide, having more than doubled its customer base in the past year.

Gabor concluded, “With this next chapter, we’re bringing a truly Holistic AI workflow with the introduction of 3 new AI agents dedicated to help each role in the clinic: Tails Concierge, Tails Medical and Tails Practice Manager — 3 agents that work together to deliver a truly unified experience that brings more than 15 AI native workflows under one roof, so clinics can spend less time on admin and more time delivering great care.”
