In the male-dominated crypto industry, where less than 5% of crypto entrepreneurs and founders, and less than 10% of crypto fund partners are women, the representation of women remains disheartening. Recent statistics from early 2022 reveal that women’s share in crypto and blockchain employment dropped to 26.5% from the previous year’s 30%. Despite these challenges, women builders have shown remarkable resilience, determination, and ingenuity. Their contributions within the Web3 space have given rise to incredible ideas and innovations, serving as a testament to their skills and capabilities and these women continue to inspire and pave the way for a more diverse and inclusive future in the industry.
Women in Web3 Changemakers 2023 list
NEAR Foundation, the Swiss non-profit organisation dedicated to supporting the governance and development of the NEAR protocol, has officially released the esteemed Women in Web3 Changemakers 2023 list.
These exceptional women were meticulously selected by the public, following a rigorous process that involved reviewing numerous applications. The judging criteria focused on inclusion, assessing the candidates’ commitment to ideas that benefit society and ensure sustainability.
Additionally, the impact these individuals have made within the Web3 community and their influence among peers were taken into account. Lastly, their contributions to significant and groundbreaking projects, both professionally and independently, demonstrated their innovation. The announcement of the award winners underscores the remarkable achievements of women in the Web3 space and emphasises the significance of having visible female role models within the ecosystem.

Previously, NEAR Foundation announced its collaboration with Caerus Ventures to launch a $100M venture capital fund and venture lab. In April 2023, Near also made a strategic investment in Cosmose AI, a Singapore-based platform that predicts and influences offline shopping behaviour.
