Attio has raised $52 million in a Series B funding round led by GV (Google Ventures), with participation from Redpoint Ventures, Balderton Capital, Point Nine, and 01A. This latest raise brings Attio’s total funding to $116 million. The UK- and US-based startup is focused on developing what it calls the first AI-native CRM, designed to provide businesses with comprehensive customer context and the flexibility to build tailored go-to-market systems beyond the limits of legacy CRM software.
Attio aims to address the challenges faced by founders and sales leaders who struggle with inflexible CRMs and expensive integrations. Rather than adding AI capabilities to outdated platforms, Attio has constructed its CRM from the ground up with artificial intelligence at its core.
Since its launch two years ago, it has attracted 5,000 paying customers, including AI startups like Lovable, Granola, Modal, and Replicate, and is on track to quadruple its annual recurring revenue this year.
Building CRM foundations for an AI-native era
CEO and co-founder Nicolas Sharp emphasised that traditional CRM categories in B2B have been stagnant and require a fundamental rethinking to be AI-native. He highlighted that such CRMs must enable a comprehensive understanding of customers, facilitate rapid action, and support the creation of a customizable go-to-market system at scale.
Attio has built its platform on AI-native “primitives” such as real-time data ingestion, intelligent workflows, programmable surfaces, agent collaboration, granular permissions, and predictive intelligence. These components allow teams to design and modify their CRM systems flexibly without waiting for vendor updates.
Attio’s vision for flexibility and speed
CTO and co-founder Alexander Christie stated that modern go-to-market teams need CRM platforms that can be tailored to their specific visions, not rigid systems they must adapt to. He noted that truly leveraging AI in CRM requires deep integration into the platform architecture, rather than a superficial add-on, as legacy CRM foundations often lack the scalability, autonomy, and extensibility necessary for AI-driven growth.
Current Attio customers are leveraging its real-time data ingestion, automation of complex workflows, and its App SDK to build custom CRM applications. Further advancements in agent collaboration and permissions are under development to enhance the platform’s flexibility.
Investors’ view on scaling a new CRM category
Michael McBride, General Partner at GV and former CRO of GitLab, joins Attio’s board as part of the round. He said, “It’s been 25 years since the last major platform shift in CRM, one of the largest software markets. Attio has the AI-native architecture, vision, and rapid customer growth to define the future of CRM and go-to-market software. For decades, innovation in go-to-market software was incremental and fragmented across countless point solutions. With the ability to build, automate and extend directly in the platform, Attio is the foundation for go-to-market for the AI era.”
With the new funding, Attio intends to expand its engineering team, accelerate product innovation, and invest heavily in R&D focused on agent collaboration, predictive intelligence, and granular permissions. Commercially, it aims to connect with the emerging generation of go-to-market builders, offering tools that can be customised to workflows without lengthy implementations.
