European companies face difficulty integrating appointment scheduling with customer relationship management while adhering to stringent data sovereignty regulations. Many existing solutions fragment workflows and expose sensitive data internationally.
Berlin-based startup Zeeg, founded in 2023, offers an AI-powered Booking CRM platform that combines scheduling and CRM functionalities in one GDPR-compliant tool hosted exclusively on German servers. Zeeg recently raised €1.1 million in a pre-seed round led by High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF) with Backbone Ventures participating, to accelerate development and refine its AI-driven lead qualification capabilities.
With its funding, the German company is developing AI assistants for pre-sales teams. These AI agents will qualify leads at the time of booking, helping sales teams close deals faster while reducing acquisition costs. The goal is to let businesses generate more sales from the same number of meetings through automation.
Combining appointment booking and CRM in one place
Combining appointment booking and CRM in one place, Zeeg was founded by Mohammad Moghaddas and Florian Horbach, who initially bootstrapped the company. Drawing from their understanding of the challenges companies face in disconnected sales and scheduling systems, they set out to build a solution that delivers seamless process integration while respecting European data privacy standards.
Hornbach told TFN, “The idea started when Mohammad experienced enterprise calendar systems firsthand as a freelance network architect for large corporations. Security policies prevented him from using external services to coordinate with clients. He couldn’t share his availability because existing tools couldn’t meet enterprise data requirements, leading to constant double-bookings and manual coordination overhead. This personal pain point revealed a broader market need. European businesses want powerful business tools but can’t compromise on data sovereignty and access control.”
Zeeg’s platform automatically turns booked appointments into complete CRM entries, eliminating the need for manual data entry and tool-switching. Its AI-powered assistants qualify leads during booking, speeding sales cycles and reducing acquisition costs.
Moghaddas elaborated, “We’re now building AI agents that work during the booking process itself. They ask intelligent qualifying questions, route leads to the right team members, and create fully enriched CRM entries before meetings even happen. This means sales teams spend their time with qualified prospects rather than doing data entry or chasing unqualified leads. Unlike traditional tools that simply capture appointment times, our platform understands context, assesses lead quality, and structures information into actionable data.”
Unlike competitors such as Calendly and Salesforce Sales Cloud, which rely on international cloud infrastructures, Zeeg emphasises European data sovereignty, hosting all data on German servers with no transfers abroad.
Additional features include round-robin scheduling, lead routing forms, workflow automation, and integrations with Google Calendar, Microsoft Teams, and Salesforce, making it a comprehensive CRM-scheduling hybrid tailored for European regulatory requirements.
What’s next?
Looking ahead, the company’s immediate focus is on becoming the standard booking CRM for DACH markets where data sovereignty matters most, combining advanced AI capabilities with European infrastructure.
Hornbach concluded, “We’re deepening our AI-powered pre-sales features to make lead qualification and routing increasingly automated and intelligent. From there, we’re expanding to France, Benelux, and other European markets where compliance and data residency are non-negotiable for enterprise software adoption. We’re building the category-defining platform for businesses that refuse to compromise on either innovation or data sovereignty.”
“Zeeg combines scheduling, CRM, and AI in a European, sovereign solution that can be deeply integrated into various workflows. The high relevance across all industries and within numerous teams demonstrates the enormous market potential – delivered by an excellent team,” said Björn Sykora, Principal at HTGF.
