Jarvo, a Reading, UK-based social network allowing homeowners to share workspace within their neighborhood for remote teams, announced that it has raised more than £360K in a record time of 42 seconds on Seedrs, beating Monzo Bank‘s 96 seconds back in 2016.

Daniel Hillman founded Jarvo during the pandemic in 2021 due to frustration at a lack of flexible workspaces outside the big city centers and his worry of missing quality time with his young daughter due to lengthy commutes.

Private residential workspaces

Jarvis offers the first of its kind to offer private residential workspaces. The UK platform turns unused creative spaces, free from distractions and without lengthy commutes, into new places to work.

The company is on a mission to provide the best workspace environments within a 15-minute walk or cycle commute from your doorstep anywhere in the world.

The new platform will also help users generate extra income by listing their spare workspace as potential work-ready spaces when people feel the effects of the cost of living crisis.

This comes when a third of the UK still works from home, showing how permanent working habits have changed, unlocking opportunities for the future of home workspaces.

Airbnb of workspace

As per the company’s claim, the platform already has more than 1,000 homeowners signed up to list their space on the platform and 13,500+ users waiting to use the platform and discover new workspaces on their doorstep.

Daniel Hillman, Founder of Jarvo, says, “The traditional office space is dead, and while co-working spaces have opened up a world of collaboration, they also bring a host of challenges. They’re rigid, expensive, and require lengthy commutes, which people are not prepared to do anymore.

“The future of work needs is decentralised, diverse, and truly sustainable – something consumers also champion. This consumer demand and interest led us to raise with Seedrs, as we wanted to allow our community to own their own piece of Jarvo. It’s wonderful that so many already share our vision for revolutionising the world of remote work. We look forward to growing on this journey with our investors and users of the platform.”
