HeyFlow, a female reproductive health workplace inclusion platform, has secured £235K in investment from Aer Venture Studios, the new venture arm of Aer Studios, marking the first investment for the SaaS impact-driven studio. This funding will support HeyFlow’s mission to bring meaningful change for women in the workplace by building and expanding its tech platform to reach more enterprise clients.
Bringing female reproductive health inclusion to the workplace
Reproductive health is a critical yet often overlooked issue in the workplace. With 31% of women experiencing severe reproductive health symptoms each year and 85% facing at least four conditions throughout their lives, the workplace consequences are substantial. Many women, particularly mothers, experience a sharp decline in earnings—up to 60% following the birth of their first child. HeyFlow is working to change that by equipping businesses with insight into the experiences of their female employees, helping organisations reshape their workplace practices to create more inclusive environments.
By leveraging employee experience data, HeyFlow aims to promote talent retention and advancement, while boosting profitability and equity. This investment allows the company to further develop its employee insight platform, which is already being used by progressive companies like Hitachi Vantara, BIMA, and Digitas UK.
An investment in impact and inclusion
HeyFlow’s success is built on the shared vision of its founders, Sophie Creese, Sabrina Walls, and Nick Dean, who have long been passionate about gender equality. The company’s efforts have been recognised by Aer Venture Studios, whose directors Geoff Wells and Tom Harber will take active roles in HeyFlow’s future development. Wells, who will join HeyFlow’s board, remarked, “Our mission is to help organisations realise their vision for digital experiences that have a positive impact on people and planet. Our ambition and values are perfectly aligned with HeyFlow’s, making it the ideal collaboration and partnership.”
Sophie Creese, Co-Founder of HeyFlow, emphasised the importance of this investment in advancing their mission: “We’re honoured to secure Aer Venture Studios’ investment and trust in HeyFlow’s vision. Their support is a powerful validation of our mission to champion reproductive health inclusion and close workplace gender gaps. At a time when only a small percentage of investment goes to female-founded companies, this sends a clear message that women-led start-ups are worthy of investment.”
Building the future of female inclusion
HeyFlow is now seeking an additional £250K in pre-seed funding to further develop its employee experience and diagnostics platform, which includes plans to integrate artificial intelligence for on-demand learning solutions. This will help the platform deliver against gender pay reporting and ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) mandates, allowing businesses to track and improve gender inclusivity on a national and global scale.
The platform aims to empower companies to take action on female reproductive health, offering insights and solutions that tackle absenteeism, improve retention, and foster true inclusion. As businesses face growing pressure to address gender gaps, HeyFlow is positioned to lead the charge in transforming the future of work for women.
A powerful partnership for growth
Aer Venture Studios’ investment comes at a pivotal moment for HeyFlow, enabling the company to scale globally and provide its tech platform to a wider range of clients. Geoff Wells’ expertise, combined with HeyFlow’s deep understanding of gender equality in the workplace, promises to accelerate the impact of this innovative platform.
Aer Venture Studios is committed to supporting purpose-driven digital experiences, with Wells commenting, “We are excited at the opportunity to bring the full force of our creative and technical talent in Aer Studios to realise HeyFlow’s vision and accelerate its impact.”
HeyFlow’s roadmap for the future includes integrating AI to provide personalised learning tools and supporting companies in their gender inclusion efforts, ensuring a positive and lasting impact on women’s health and careers.
The team behind the mission
HeyFlow was co-founded by Sophie Creese, Sabrina Walls, and Nick Dean, and recently added Kate Thompson, an applied behavioural scientist, as a non-executive director. With the combined expertise of its founders and the backing of Aer Venture Studios, HeyFlow is well-positioned to continue driving change for women in the workplace and beyond.
The team’s dedication to ending workplace disadvantage for women is evident in their growing portfolio of clients and their ongoing commitment to innovation. As they continue to expand, HeyFlow remains focused on creating inclusive, supportive environments for all employees.
